Council launches Bracknell Digital TV service
Bracknell Forest residents can now find out what's on, search for a job, check bus and train timetables and even book a doctor's appointment using a new digital TV service.
The new service has been launched by Bracknell Forest Borough Council to increase access to electronic services to people living in the borough.
Residents can now use digital TV to:
- Find out about local events and activities;
- Find contact details and opening times for Council services;
- Search for jobs locally or across the country using the Job Centre Plus database;
- Access train and bus timetables;
- Access the Citizen’s Advice Bureau ;
- Book a doctor’s appointment (subject to the GP surgery’s participation).
Cllr Iain McCracken, Executive Member for Bracknell Corporate Services, said: "Residents can already chose to do business with us 24 hours-day by using our online services. But we know not everyone in the borough has access to the internet so we hope this digital TV channel will help more residents to access our services when it is convenient to them."
