Robberies in Bracknell

Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were robbed in separate incidents in Bracknell over the weekend.

Between 4.30pm and 5pm on Friday 4 May, a man in his fifties was walking with a friend through the underpass in Station Road, towards Bracknell bus station, when a group of five or six men approached the pair and assaulted them.

One of the group continued to punch and kick the man, who sustained grazes and bruises to his back, before stealing cash from his pocket and a bus pass.

The main offender is white, aged about 45, 5ft 6ins and of heavy build. The rest of the group are also in their forties.

At around 11.55pm on Monday 7 May, a man in his fifties was walking through the underpass near Ranelagh School, towards Bracknell railway station, when he was hit on the head from behind and his laptop, mobile phone, credit cards and cash were stolen.

The man sustained facial injuries and was taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital for treatment. It is believed his attackers are three or four white men, one of stocky build and another wearing a blue top with white trim.

Both incidents are not being linked at this time.

Anyone with any information about either of the two incidents is asked to contact Det Insp Mike Petford at Bracknell CID on 0845 8 505 505. If you don’t want to speak to police or give your name, please call the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
